Vote Pour Moi!

Hey, I know I haven't posted much on here lately, but I need your guys' help.

Please vote for me on these couple of things; it won't take long, I promise. I really need the prize money for college (the one I'm looking at right now is over 30,000 dollars a year, and I think I need to take four years... Yeesh).

So can you spare a poor girl a vote or two? Thanks!

New Zodiac Design -- Snake

Summer's drawing to a close, and school starts for me in two weeks. I'm definately ready for my senior year -- it's been a really uneventful summer, and I've barely seen any of my friends. I'm getting great classes, too. I'm taking Advanced 2D art for the second time, and I'm also taking drama class. Best of all, I'm on Newspaper Staff, and I'm going to be the official cartoonist for the school newspaper!

The paper circulates once every two weeks, so *hopefully* you can expect a nice little cartoon here every two weeks or so, maybe more than that if I've got good ideas. I have no idea what I'm going to do yet; I really should've prepared a little over the summer, but I think I'll be fine. It should be great practice for me, plus I'm a glutton for complements on my drawings, so I should be getting a fat ego by year's end.

Anyway, as the blog title up there suggests, here is a new design for the Zodiac student, snake:

The inspiration behind this mostly comes from a photo I found online while searching for references of the zodiac animals. It was an albino cobra, and its color was almost golden, which is something I'd never seen on a snake before. I like this design much more than the bland snake I had last time. I know his shirt is completely pointless, but I felt like he needed some kind of accessory. The mustache-goatee combo with a side of hairy eyebrows may be enough, though, so next time I draw him I might leave it out. Tell me what you think!

Also -- I've gotten a new account on deviantArt.com, so if you want to check out recent art that isn't posted on my blog, please visit this link: http://www.moogoogaipanda.deviantart.com/

That's all for now. God bless, and have a cookie-duper day.

Hi Again

Oh, hello. What's it been, several months? Yeah...
Sorry about the absence. For a while it was because my internet was painfully slow and I didn't have the patience to load the site, then I had no internet at all. But now I have high-speed DSL, and I'm good to go.
I've been doing some more work on Panda Sensei and his students. I've got rough designs for all 12 zodiac students, some colored, but I drew them a while ago and I'm wanting to redesign. I might end up doing that soon.
Anyway, here are just a few samples of things I've drawn lately. Please enjoy!
(If you'd like to see more, I've got plenty of drawings on my deviantArt account Here's the link to my gallery: http://superramen.deviantart.com/gallery/ . Moving on.)

Here are some life drawings I did from some department store catalogues.

Here's Tigress from Kung Fu Panda, still one of my favorite movies.

Here are all of Panda Sensei's 12 zodiac students. These are early, rough designs, and I'll probably be changing all of them pretty dramatically, other than Sensei's.

And here's Panda Sensei making banana pudding, my dessert weakness.

I can't stop eating it if it's in front of me.

Bye, everyone!

Sensei's New Students

A few of you might recognize my cuddly character, Panda Sensei:

Well, from the first few days that I created him, I've been trying to think of students for him. After all, 'sensei' is part of his name.

After a long time, I've finally come up with something. He's going to have a student for each sign of the zodiac. Woo!

You know; dragon, rooster, monkey, etc. Chinese New Year thing.

I'm year of the sheep.

I'm spinning around a half-plotline in my head. Sensei adopts 12 little kids, trains them to be martial arts masters, and they go on adventures.

I didn't say it was a good plotline...

Anyway, I sketched some designs away in pen. They're not great, and they'll definately be changed up as I go. Here's Dragon, Tiger, and Monkey (names will be decided later. Maybe just their animal in Chinese or Japanese):

Eh? Eh? Are they great are what?

I know they remind you of Kung Fu Panda. I can't help it. I'm not making it similar on purpose.

Bear with me!

It's 2009

Hoo, boy. I haven't blogged in a few months, have I? Sorry about that. Don't know what kept me from it, really. Just laziness, I guess.

Anyway, I'm pretty happy about something. I got a tablet for Christmas! Bamboo. I love it. I also got The Dark Knight on DVD, and the pairing of the two recently resulted in this: Fanart of Heath Ledger's joker. It's a shame he passed away. The Joker was just phenomenal. The magic trick with a pencil scene was probably my favorite.

I might start messing around with my layout here a little bit. Happy late New Year!

I'm Back

Man, it's been a while since I've posted anything on my blog. Sorry about that.

Not a whole lot to say, really. I'm doing well in school, Christmas is coming, and I'm pretty hungry right now.

In my Chemistry I class a few weeks ago, we got a weird assignment to make some stuffed moles. See, a mole is also a unit of measurement for things like atoms (6.022 x 10 to the 23rd power), and I guess that's where it came from. Fun assignment, though.

Anyway, there was a contest for the best mole. The winner got a $10 gift card to a fast food place. The teacher's physics students were supposed to vote on the best mole, and the 1st and 2nd place moles would get the prize. Well, here's my mole:

Iron Mole! I was so sure I was going to win. However, Iron Mole lost to a frilly pink mole and... Terrorist Mole. No lie.

I wasn't so upset about Terrorist Mole. That was actually funny and pretty creative, but... Pink?! Come on. Iron Man just does NOT lose to pink.

Anyway, I got third place, which was good enough. No harm done. No prolonged feelings of rage and jealousy.

Hey! My parents just brought me a McChicken sandwitch. That means it's time to go.

Bye!

Tennis Photos

Clever and creative title, right? I know.

Well, a few weeks ago, I had to take photos of our highschool boys' tennis match for Journalism I. It was pretty fun. I'd like to pick up photography as a hobby if nice cameras didn't cost so much. I may get that from my sister, who is a professional photographer. (Go see her website! http://www.jandraphotography.com) She's rediculously good.

Anyway, I just figured I'd post a few of my favorite photos that I took here on blogger. And here they are:
This isn't the best photo, but I thought it was sort of interesting that this guy had a motorcycle helmet with him at a highschool tennis game, so I took a few photos.

This is the coach. He has the most amazing skin color I've ever seen. I took some other photos of him, but I just chose this one.

I like this one a lot, but then I don't. I guess it just seems sort of corny, maybe? I don't know. I like the effect, I guess. Perdy fence.

This isn't really a great quality photo, but I love the expression I somehow managed to catch with that slow-as-molasses(sp?) camera I was using. It's kind of funny, too. Hope he doesn't know I'm posting it online. Heheh.

I just think this one is funny. I like the colors a lot, too, but it's mostly just funny.

Well, there you have it! Photos taken by yours truly. Hope you like. If not, oh well.

Aw, crap, I think I'm missing the Daily Show With John Stewart! After that is the Colbert Report. Scrubs may come on tonight, too. Three of my most favorite shows.
